A gifted karter, Lando Norris remains the youngest driver to ever set a pole position at a national meeting. In 2016, he graduated to single-seaters and won a slew of championships. Lando became the official test and reserve driver for McLaren in 2018, as well as making his debut in F2 with Carlin Racing. His progression towards F1 continued when he enjoyed productive FP1 outings in Belgium and Italy. With a remarkable rookie season under his belt, the 20-year-old begins his second full season in Formula 1 with McLaren in 2020.
Following in the tire tracks of his famous father, Carlos Sainz saw early success in karting, with a move to cars in 2010, when he just 15. In 2011 he moved up to Formula Renault, winning the Northern Europe Cup and placing second in the Eurocup. In 2012 he had a busy season of European and British F3, scoring five race wins in the latter. He graduated to F1 with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2015. In August 2018, it was announced that Carlos would be joining McLaren in 2019, taking the seat vacated by his close friend and countryman Fernando Alonso. He went on to make his first F1 podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix that year.
